THE BOOK OF WATER TO MARTI

Massana Joanpere opens on March 18, his eighth solo exhibition in Italy at the Galleria Il Torchio - Milan Costantini (2002: Il libro dei giochi - G. Massana has been over a year preparing this project, which together with the exhibition "Un llibre per the Marti", presented at the Gallery Paqui Delgado, Spain includes miscellaneous work on wood, paper and four facilities. In the last exhibition the art critic and philosopher Arnau Puig said: "The spaces Massana Joanpere plastics have all the appearance and the impression of the walls of the streets, castles, the barracks, the cells of monks or imprisoned and the bark of trees anywhere in the world, reflect and relate in great detail everything that happens and is important in life, and has been conducted also on the spur of the moment and the circumstance and with the means available to them, and if applicable, with all intentions, good and bad, while justified and stating the reason and cause direct and honest about why people were acting. For this occasion and different fairs that have presence in the gallery were three installations: "Ships of Earth": forty pieces of clay and iron in the form of the archetype of a ship, "Getting up to walk, walk to stop ": 66 wooden blocks which occupy an area of 200 x 400 cm, and" Brokedown Palace ": 8 stuffed animals suspended from the ceiling and covered with small iron and stone columns. It also includes large-scale works as "Ourobos III" 130 x 270 cm, "amagats subsol of tolls on a" 150 x 150 cms, etc. I delicate works on paper, folded verticals, and we refer to the pages of a book.
The series offers a subtle i poetic discourse through the water as a conductor, introducing different elements in the archetypes for them to interact and serve for Marti, or any of the viewers analyze and reinterpret. In the words of Arnau Puig: "Joanpere Massana making reality objects and more sensitive information and all kinds and, with these elements and prints that will cause the colors and their release into the environment, with the drawing, that his excited hand drawn in the plastic space, produces a narrative that is internal but you want to count and to generate, arranges and plasma on a wall, a surface, the story that moves him, and that is, forcing him to leave same to tell, what we communicate.
